Worldwide Foam is very excited about our brand-new hot air lamination line, recently installed in our Elkhart, IN facility. This unique piece of equipment was designed to bond low-density crosslinked polyethylene rolls (XLPE) together, using heated air, evenly distributed between the foam layers. This precise technology creates an extreme and consistent surface bond, when compared to a hot blade, or flame lamination. Computer-controlled rollers achieve better edge alignment, which translates to quicker uptimes and more usable material, while achieving a run-rate of 18 inches per second. Worldwide Foam can now accommodate rolls up to 2.5” thick and 74” wide.

“One of our commitments to customers is continuous improvement of our manufacturing process and equipment. The goal is to streamline our processes and provide press ready materials for die-cut, routing, and waterjet cut,” said Worldwide Foam operation manager, Donny Frandsen. “This equipment drastically improved our lead time and lamination quality. It allows our Ekhart facility to process more lamination jobs. This truly is the ideal machine for laminating continuous XLPE rolls,” Frandsen said.

In addition to the new machines, we have recently opened a new location in Laporte, Indiana.  This 140,000 sq.ft. Warehouse will allow us to hold a deeper and wider group of inventory items while we expand our value-added services in other facilities.
