EM-41st & EM-41UL
For those who are looking for 2A1 EPDM but do not need the automotive spec, the EM-41-ST and EM-41-UL are worth a second look.
With a nominal shore hardness rating of 39(00), the EM-41 series is a general purpose 4.93 lb/ft3 closed cell EPDM that meets ASTM D1056-2A1 standard. This EPDM effectively seals windows, doors, and other openings to prevent air leaks, moisture infiltration, and dust intrusion due to its excellent weather resistance.
The EM-41 series shines in applications where rigorous automotive compliance is not required, to include general gasketing, buildings, appliances & electronics enclosures, and HVAC systems.
The EM-41-UL is the fire-retardant variant that meets UL-94 HF-1 standard at 1.5mm and higher. It has a slightly higher nominal density of 6.18 lb/ft3, and a nominal shore hardness rating of 24 (00).
Both can be supplied at 54” wide usable, in sheet and roll format, with or without PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive).
